Kathleen Johnson

Kathleen enlisted in 1985 in the U.S. Army as a military police officer and has served in a variety of positions in the Military Police Regiment and as a member of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID). During her career, she served in Germany, Korea, Kosovo, Bosnia, Haiti, and at several military installations in the United States. In these positions, she has served with distinction in both senior staff and senior leadership positions. Kathleen is currently serving in Iraq and will be unavailable until her current tour of duty is complete.

Kathleen has been an outspoken advocate for foxhole atheists for more than 10 years. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Administration. In 1997, Kathleen founded the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers, and she currently serves as American Atheists' first military director.
